We had a blast exploring a nearby lake and hiking up a beautiful peak. The location was spot-on, super convenient for everything. Just a heads-up though, the parking situation can get a bit tight.

Cozy stay with a lovely view!
We had such a nice weekend in Ambleside! The room was super spacious and clean, way bigger than I thought. Rob was an absolute gem, helped with balloons for my mum's bday and moved our car when we needed. Only thing was the parking access – a bit tricky. perfect spot to chill and enjoy the scenery!

ferndale lodge is in a perfect location, super close to everything in ambleside. the standard king room was warm, clean and had everything we needed, especially that big comfy bed. there was unlimited tea and coffee, which was a nice touch, and the shower was piping hot. rob was a super nice host, making our stay feel even better.
the car park is a bit small and kinda cramped, had issues parking. also, no breakfast included, but there are loads of places to eat nearby.

Just had a wonderful two-night stay and enjoyed the lovely views from my cozy room while sipping on free tea from the common area. There were great opportunities for relaxation with the garden seating and a cozy lounge to unwind in. The only slight hiccup was that parking was a bit tricky, so consider reaching out to the hotel beforehand for tips. 😊

Comfortable stay with great location
The room was spacious and spotlessly clean, making for a very comfortable stay. I particularly loved the full English breakfast, which was delicious and set me up for a long day of exploring. The central location is a big bonus, as it allowed easy access to local restaurants and attractions. One small downside was the cramped parking situation, which could be challenging during peak hours.

Additional towel hanging space would be helpful.

Staff were accommodating, particularly when they assisted with luggage up the stairs, which was a challenge for us. The location made it easy to explore, and the cleanliness of the space was impressive. the lack of included breakfast was a letdown, especially when you're out and about. the small bathroom made getting ready a bit cramped, although it was spotless.

Great spot for anyone needing a break
The host Rob was incredibly welcoming, he even let me check in early so I could start my day without wasting time, which was a huge bonus. The room was spacious and clean, plus, I had access to unlimited tea and coffee whenever I wanted, a nice touch.
It wasn’t the cheapest option but worth every penny.

Location on a steep hill comes with several staircases. not ideal for anyone looking to avoid leg work. The room lacked some basic toiletries—no soap in the shower and no tissues—which is a bit disappointing. street noise broke the tranquility on Saturday night, making it difficult to settle in, especially without breakfast provided on-site.
